In a recent blog post, Seth Godin, author of such marketing classics as Purple Cow and Meatball Sundae, offers up a suggestion we've perhaps all pondered before, but seldom so brazenly.
His idea is to reward your favorite blogger with a few clicks on the ads. A thank you for good content. A tip, if you will. There's one problem though (actually, probably several), it's not your money! That's not generosity, it's stealing!
I've a better proposal. If you know you'll be buying something, say, from Amazon, or you remember your blog friend had an affiliate link for the latest hot script or tutorial, then, by all means, go back to his or her site and click-thru. But, don't just willy-nilly rack up someone else's advertising bill when there's no chance of you purchasing.
